The Past 10 Weeks With YO! Adrian

YO! Adrian is a YouTube channel that I created in order to learn and develop digital marketing skills and this blog was a big help in order to stay connected with all of my viewers. Over the past 10 weeks, I used this blog to create meaningful content that related to each of my weekly themes. About half of my blog posts were embedded YouTube videos that I created in order to have a network of consistent content.

I used this blog to give more insightful content that may not have been conveyed in each of my YouTube videos. I touched on topics ranging from being thankful on Thanksgiving and Veteran's Day, to the fun creativity of Halloween Decorations. Each of my blog posts complemented my videos and I believe a personal blog being parallel to my YouTube channel offers more of a transparent connection with my audience.

I learned that blogging can be very important in keeping yourself relevant with the help of weekly topics, which creates a sustainable connection with my viewers. With the help of blogging, businesses can create an informative environment with their peers that can help drive sales, increase social media engagement, and even increase their Search Engine Optimization.

I am truly thankful for the opportunity to delve into the world of online blogging for the first time in my life. The past 10 weeks have shown me that blogging should be a part of any business in order to achieve a better connection with their target audience. I have learned valuable information about the significance of blogging for businesses/brands. And a special thanks to everyone who tuned into my blog!

Thanksgiving 2018 - What I'm Thankful For

Thanksgiving is about gathering family members and creating a wonderful memory; filled with turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and pie. It has been celebrated throughout the generations dating the ages of the pilgrims while they made peace with the natives. It is great that this tradition aged so well and has not been completely forgot as Christmas is one month after.

However, there is always something so genuine about this holiday as the terms "Thanks"and "giving" are in the title. Therefore, many people are compelled to look back at their lives and to give thanks to what they already have, rather than focusing on what they feel are missing. This is a very charming aspect of this holiday as it teaches humility, care, and empathy towards others who may not be as fortunate.

This year I have a plethora of things I am thankful for that it can be tough to list everything in detail on this single blog post. I will love to start with the most essential things which are looked over in terms of giving thanks - my health. I'm thankful for being generally healthy and with the abilities to remain mobile, and happy. I am truly thankful for the love and gratitude that I receive from my family members as they have been there for me my whole entire life. In particular, I am EXTREMELY thankful for my mother. She has always sacrificed in order to create a better life for me than she has had. At 31, she came into America with no knowledge of the English language. With a 2 year old daughter, and myself in her stomach, awaiting my birth. Equipped with merely a 4th grade education, she looked for work as a waitress and quickly grasped the language enough to be occupied. After 23 years of hard work, she is now a part owner of a family restaurant in Marshfield, WI. Recently, she obtained U.S. citizenship after years of waiting and studying the history of America in order to pass the interview process. I simply cannot have been more proud of her at that moment.

It's important to thank the ones around you who have been supportive and helpful in hard moments in life. Thanksgiving is a wonderful reminder to do so if you don't already! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful For Our Veterans

Image result for veterans day 2018 100th yearToday is Veterans Day. It is one of the most important days to remember and never to forget the selfless sacrifices that our troops have given to the American people throughout the history of our country. The public opinion of whether or not some wars have been justified, or unnecessary may change, but understand that the ones who volunteer and enlist to serve our country should always be saluted. A couple weeks from now is Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my family, friends, the opportunity to go to school, and for being able to eat and live comfortably. These things are only possible in my life because of the work that our fellow troops have put in to make sure we are safe and secure. So, in all honesty, the number one thing to be truly thankful for is indeed our brave veterans who put their lives on the line so families like mine have the opportunity to celebrate holidays such as Thanksgiving. Without their service, we may not have the privilege and freedom to cook a holiday meal, or to visit distant family members to re-connect. Veterans Day will always fall on the 11th of November because World War I ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. This is very significant to remember because many of the veterans of that first world war did not want the things that they went through to be forgotten each passing generation. World War I was one of the most brutal wars in history as most casualties came, not from small arms fire, but from barrages of artillery. Many of the surviving veterans from World War I were very shaken from their experiences and often were not the same anymore. Hours of artillery fire would fall with no moment of any silence. These conditions were nothing short of extreme. Veteran's Day of 2018 will be the 100th year anniversary of the World War I armistice - ending fighting on the ground, air and sea. Instead of prioritizing a barbecue, or getting drunk with friends (which can still happen, I'm not saying not to), try to call a relative who's a veteran and thank them for their service. If you see a customer at a restaurant or store wearing a veteran's hat, be sure to thank them for their service. I believe our veterans do not get enough recognition for the events they went through to ensure the safety and freedom of all Americans.
